This walk is also being advertised as part of the BWV Try Bushwalking Month. Club members and non BWV guests please register your interest direct through the club as usual. This walk has been capped at 20 members and guests, with a further cap of 10 guest walkers registering via BWV.
You will need to bring: 1-2 Litres water, clothing appropriate for the weather, sturdy footwear, first aid kit, Sun hat/sunscreen, morning tea, Lunch and bug spray.
There are amenities at both picnic grounds. The terrain is mostly flat with some minor undulations on a well compacted track. The stepping stones are smooth and well spaced but still require some care in crossing.
This easy-going stroll takes us through the picturesque area of the eastern Brisbane Ranges. The gorge follows the Stony Creek with several dry creek crossings on large flat, easy to navigate rocks.
We continue past the Stony Creek picnic ground for a short distance to the Stony Creek Reserve Dam, our turn around point.
Retracing our steps to the picnic ground we’ll stop for morning tea before returning to the start of our walk just in time for lunch.
