Start location is from the Drysdale Station 38°10’46.4″S 144°33’30.2″E
After a toilet stop and morning tea, we start our walk with a short section along High St, cross the railway tracks and then head east along a bitumen trail running parallel to the rail line.
The trail takes us under the Portarlington Rd, all the way to Swan Bay Rd. Most of this section is compact earth, very flat with one hill.
The track is bordered mostly by farms on either side but has a lovely canopy of trees giving plenty of variation and shade.
Just past the Swan Bay intersection are the remains of the Mannerim Station with a shelter and seats and an old abandoned rail car covered in graffiti.
Retracing our steps to the south east corner of Swan Bay Rd, is the Mannerim Memorial Indigenous Garden where we will have an early lunch before returning to Drysdale via the same trail. There is only seating for about 15 or so people so if you can carry a small chair that would be great.
On preview day we were treated to a sighting of the Q Train as it slowly made it journey to Queenscliff.
