Distance from Werribee: 85 km (approx 70 min) The start of the walk is from the car park at Bells Beach Lookout, Bells Beach (-38.3670421, 144.2843110).
Bring 2L water, sunscreen, morning tea, lunch, snacks, and a first aid kit. Wear suitable clothing and sun hat and sturdy walking shoes or boots. Bring a wet weather jacket just in case.
Track conditions: sandy beach, steps, stony track, road.
This walk is part of the Surf Coast Walk with a mix of beach, sea views and coastal bush on a mostly flat surface with some uneven steps and walking on slight inclines.
The first section of the walk is to Bells Beach Southside car park, where there are public toilets. We will follow the track to the Surf Coast walk. The walk then goes inland to the Jarosite Mine Track and Ironbark Lake.
We will continue along the Jarosite Track to Ironbark Reserve where we will stop at picnic tables for morning tea.
We then return to Bells Beach along Jarosite Track with beautiful sea views and views of Point Addis.
Our picnic lunch will be on Bells Beach. Bring a picnic blanket to sit on. We will then return past Bells Beach Southside car park and toilets and back to the lookout car park where the walk ends.
