Blackwood Tunnel Walk

We will carpool from Werribee to Blackwood, about an hour drive, stopping in Blackwood for toilets if required and then drive a short distance to Golden Point carpark. This is only a small parking area. There are no toilets anywhere along the walk.

The track is a narrow hard earthen surface with some rocks under foot.

You will need to bring a raincoat, hat, sunscreen, hiking boots or suitable walking shoes (no thongs or sandals), lunch, water, snacks and walking poles if you have them.

The walk starts from Golden Point carpark on a narrow earthen trail following the Lerderderg River for about 7.5km, with no hills.

The last 200 metres is down a steep track on loose stones to the river where we will have lunch.

We return to the carpark via the same trail with the first 200 metres of the walk back up the steep hill.
