This a two part event starting at the Castlemaine Botanic Gardens followed by a walk in Maldon after lunch
We will car pool from Werribee to Castlemaine Botanic gardens where there is parking available. The path around the gardens is a wide, flat gravel path. The Maldon walk is on a mix of gravel path and cement walkway with slight undulations.
You will need to bring a sunhat, coat, suitable walking shoes, sun screen, water, lunch, snacks and a picnic chair.
On arrival at the gardens, we will have morning tea. Best to bring your own as I don’t know what shops are open on the weekends. We will spend about an hour or exploring, have lunch and there is a market across the road if anyone is interested. You can bring along a picnic lunch which can be left in the car.
After lunch we will drive on to Maldon, about a 20 minute drive, and park at the old train station. We’ll walk around one of the old mine sites, through the town and up to Anzac Hill lookout, returning to the cars via the same route.
