This walk starts out following the Happy Valley Track by taking the path directly across from the car park. Walk along the near edge of the dam and then along the opposite side.
At a junction further on we turn left onto Link Track. This intersects with Gravelly Track which descends steeply down to Oldhouse Track. An old homestead was located at the base of the hill but there isn’t much left to see.
At the junction we turn left again and up the short, less steep track. At the top we walk along a flat section before climbing again.
Here the track levels out again and we seem to be level with the tree line.
We continued along Oldhouse Track which meanders through the scrub ending at Long Forest Rd. We will need to go through a fence here.
Crossing to a path on the opposite side of the road, well away from the traffic, we turn south and walk along Long Forest Road until we come to Djerriwarrh Track which is a short 2.1km up and back track.
The return trip takes us back along Long Forest Rd where we pick up the Old House Track again and then follow Mallee Track back to the cars.
