Lyonville Trails Walk

The drive to Quarry St Recreational Reserve is about 75 minutes (83kms) Google Maps: 37°23’15.2″S 144°19’14.4″E

After leaving Werribee we will regroup at the Quarry St Reserve for a quick morning tea and to use the amenities before travelling to the Radio Springs Hotel, (10 minutes – 9kms) Lyonville which has parking on the side of the road. The start of the trail is a short walk from the parking area.

This gently undulating track is mostly flat and comprised of compact earth.

Bring Water, sunscreen, hat, snacks, lunch, sturdy walking shoes/boots, insect repellent, first aid kit and snake bite bandages if you have them. Something to sit on might also be handy.

After passing through the trailhead marker, we immediately turn left along a well-defined path through tall, shady timbers, following the Miller Cutting Track. A minor detour via a track to the right and then left again, gets us back on track.

From here we continue until we intersect with the Domino Rd, turn right and, after a short distance, pick up the Miller Cutting track once more.

We then travel along a short section of Clarrie Donald Track before meeting up with the Old Lyonville Track which then crosses the Domino Rd again.

We continue along this track until we intersect with the track we started out on, re-crossing the little boardwalk and back to the cars.

After the walk we will drive back to the Quarry St Recreational Park for lunch. BYO or the Red Beard Bakery isn’t far away.
