We will carpool from Werribee to Harbison Picnic Ground, the drive will take approximately 75 minutes. There is plenty of parking available and there are toilets at the start of the walk.
The trail is a solid earthen track, with some stones under foot in places. The track has some small hill climbs throughout the walk and one long steep climb, about 750 metres long.
You will need to bring a hat, raincoat, hiking boots or suitable walking shoes (no thongs or sandals), lunch, water, snacks and walking poles if you have them.
The walk starts from Harbison Picnic Ground on the Camels Hump trail, this will take us through native forest to the Camels Hump, this is the highest point of the Macedon Ranges.
At the Hump we’ll have morning tea and enjoy the lovely views.
After the break we will return to Harbison Picnic Ground via the same trail. There are toilets on the trail at the McGregor Picnic Ground, no toilets at the Hump.
