Bring water, hat/beanie, wear appropriate clothes for the weather and pack morning tea and lunch (if not purchasing).
Parking is available at Longlea where we will start the walk after having morning tea. The destination is the small town of Axedale which is the halfway point of the O’Keefe Trail.
As the hike is about 8km one way, we will do a car shuffle instead of walking back to the start. There is an opportunity, if people are interested, to walk to the Axe Bridge, about a kilometre before the start while hikers are being shuffled by car.
The hike is flat and easy on fine loose gravel. You will be walking through bushland on a tree lined route with some open country.
There is a café (Rise and Grind) in Axedale where coffee is available as well as homemade lunch and snacks. The café is on the opposite side of the road from the park where we will have lunch.
