The drive to Avalon Beach is about 30 minutes (35.2kms) Google Maps: 38°05’05.0″S 144°25’30.2″E
There is a decent sized car park away from the boat ramp and has toilets but no seating so we will have to BYO. Bring water, your own first aid kit, morning tea, lunch, snacks, sturdy footwear and dress for the weather.
This is a very open walk with virtually no shelter. The earthen walking surface is flat and may be a bit muddy.
Our walk starts down a road alongside a row of holiday houses with some interesting artwork before entering into an open grassy area. At this point we take tracks leading to Point Lillias, with views of Geelong to the south, and another to the east overlooking Port Phillip Bay.
Backtracking a short way, we circumnavigate around a large retaining pond via several causeways before taking the same track back to the start. Depending on the time, walkers have the option of returning to Werribee early or staying for lunch.
