Tunnel Creek Walk

Distance from Werribee to start: 56 km to start –  37°23’21.4″S 144°38’16.5″E

Bring water, sunscreen, hat, morning tea, lunch, sturdy walking shoes or boots, first aid kit.

The hike begins on the corner of Gap Rd/Tunnel Creek Rd at Cherokee after driving about 10 km on Gap Rd from Main Rd Riddell’s Creek. There is ample space for car parking but not a designated carpark at the beginning of the hike.

The hike itself is on little used dirt roads. There is no signage but it is quite straight forward with a few forks turning to the left.

The road has some small twigs and some deep ruts on some sections but it is easily accessible. There are some moderately steepish sections on the first half of the circuit and a gradual slope downwards after that.

There are tall trees providing a tree canopy with very green bracken fern and some lovely views along the way.
