We’ll meet up at the Rippleside car park for a comfort break before we commence the walk by 9.30am. Please ensure that you bring along your food and refreshments for morning tea as we will be returning to Rippleside Park for lunch under the shelters located there. Or alternatively you can buy your coffee, tea or have breakfast at the cafe between Ripples park and Eastern Beach near the Steam Pack market. If the market is open then we can stop there for at least an hour.
This walk starts at Rippleside Park and we’ll walk along the footpath adjacent to the road to take in the sights of the residential houses and the Geelong bay as far as the eye can see before descending the pathway to join the Geelong foreshore.
The walking pace will be leisurely along the boardwalk before we stop for a morning tea to warm up for a hot cup of char (tea), chocolate or coffee at the cafe halfway along the foreshore to Eastern Beach.
We will be walking in June so please be prepared for cold, windy and wet weather. If there are people who are still in need to walk further and haven’t expended all their energy I am also looking to go and visit the Geelong Botanical Gardens after a short drive. Please note that the cafe located in the gardens may be closed.
