WBOC End of Year Brunch

Werribee Bushwalking and Outdoor Club  Inc invites all Past, Future and Prospective Members to attend our end of 2025 breakup brunch at the Serendip Sanctuary in Lara.

Serendip Sanctuary is a 250 ha wildlife oasis near the You Yangs and the town of Lara. The sanctuary showcases the open grassy woodlands and wetlands of the volcanic Western Plains, making it an ideal spot to see birdlife and learn about wetlands ecology. Visit the bird hides to see some of the 150 bird species that breed at, or visit, Serendip Sanctuary. It is open from 8am on Sunday and our festivities will commence after 9.00am

This is a BYO event so please bring whatever you would like to eat and drink and maybe a plate of something to share with others. There are free BBQs if you wish to cook anything.

You will also need to bring plates, cutlery, drinkware. There is plenty of seating but byo a chair just in case.

We will have coffee and tea on hand. If you can bring a spare thermos of hot water, that would be most welcome.

Hampers will be raffled and our Mystery Auction* is always a lot of fun. Bring along 1 or 2 wrapped “mystery” items to be auctioned and bring plenty of small change.

*The mystery auction consists of wrapped items of any sort of modest value. People present then bid for them. It can get quite spirited and entertaining. Typically we bid in small change but winning bids can amount to several dollars. It’s meant as a bit of fun. If you are bringing something, just bring one or two items and make it a fun gift. It can even be something you have lying around the house (nothing broken, past its useby date or perishable).
