Werribee Gorge Circuit

We will carpool from Werribee to Quarry Picnic Ground at Werribee Gorge, the drive is about 40 minutes and there is a large carpark with drop toilets.

The walk is on a dirt trail, loose stone under foot in some places, some rock scrambling, and about 30 metre section of the walk is around a rock face with cable to hang onto.

You will need to bring a hat, sunscreen, rain coat, hike boots or sneakers, water, walking poles if you have them, lunch and snacks.

From Quarry Picnic Ground we walk on a trail descending down to the start of the gorge. The trail follows the Werribee River through the gorge. As we walk through the gorge some of the trail is over rocks.

At Blackwood Pool we have a long hill climb from the lower gorge up to the surrounding cliff tops. From here we gradually make our way back down to the carpark where the walk ends.
